I’m very excited to announce that the guest teacher next term at the Zoom Café will be Amy Bebbington, Director of Training for the Association of British Choral Directors.

Amy followed the Dalcroze Certificate training for a while until she became too busy with her conducting work. But movement and gesture are a key part of her teaching and she has agreed to take three sessions in the spring term.

Amy is keen to make the sessions as relevant to Dalcroze students as possible. Here recent online choral leadership and pedagogy course covered, amongst other things:

  • Warm ups and vocal technique
  • Conducting technique
  • Kinaesthetic and gesture
  • Rehearsal planning and pacing
  • Repertoire sourcing and creating programmes
  • Choral surgery – all your questions answered!

But if there are any other specific area(s) of conducting you would like her to cover please could you let me know at my Director of Projects email address: dop@dalcroze.org.uk

In the meantime, if you’d like to see more about Amy’s work, do look at her website at https://www.amybebbington.co.uk/
