Dalcroze Eurhythmics education helps to develop the body as the first instrument. The “Rhythmics and piano discovery” course was offered to 6-year-old children who take a course twice a week in which instrumental playing (piano) is integrated. This specificity of the Institut Jaques-Dalcroze has led us to set up a research project in collaboration with the Université de Genève and the Haute école de Musique, in order to be able to analyze some elements of the children’s development. Indeed, the learning and the transfer of these motor, cognitive and affective patterns can play an interesting role in understanding the mechanisms allowing the transfer of these patterns from gross motor skills to fine motor skills. Through the video of a recorded course, this presentation will help to understand the stakes of this experience.
