The AGM held at City Lit on 13th March was a review of the year. Successes were celebrated and after the meeting there was a lively discussion about the future direction of the society.
Sadly the following trustees stood down at the recent AGM. Very many thanks to them all.
A member of the Dalcroze UK Council since 1990, I gained my certificate in Dalcroze at Roehampton Institute and have taught Dalcroze to nursery children ever since. I also teach piano and English & Scottish folk-dancing.
The first Literary Manager of the Royal Exchange Theatre, Manchester, I later became a theatre, opera and radio drama director and producer. I co-founded the Commonwealth Film Festival in Manchester and am now the director of a media consultancy. In my spare time I am researching a PhD in theology and drama.
Higher education marketing and communications strategy specialist. I currently manage external relations for Education at the University of York. I hold an MA in Ethnomusicology and BA (Hons) in Music from Durham University, and enjoy being involved in community music making.
I am establishing a hybrid career in music and audit and accountancy. I currently work for the Clarke Nicklin Group and the Royal Northern College of Music. During my MMus degree, I studied Dalcroze Eurhythmics. Having been a classically trained musician I won significant sponsorships, scholarships, competition prizes and considerable international recognition. I still enjoy freelance performing as a concerto soloist, chamber music recitalist and accompanist.
